BOM Blocks--First Two Down!

I finished my first two Skill Builder BOM blocks this weekend! I like "Sound Wave" better, but boy was it fussy! I don't really see myself making another one of those. I am a lazy quilter. :)

"Magnum" block

"Sound Wave" block

There are a couple of scraps in the Sound Wave block, but they're pretty quiet prints, so they don't really show up in this photo. I do have some red fabric pulled for this quilt, but it just wasn't right in either of these blocks. Maybe next month! I've started thinking of this as my "Santorini" quilt, in keeping with the source of my inspiration for the colors.

Also, it's cold here.

Hope your weekend was grand! Linking up with the "Let's Get Acquainted" linky at Plum and June.

  9. Loving the blocks and your seams are so straight on the sound wave block. Also you don't seem to have had the problems I had using starch on an ironing board with lots of give in it. Mine were great and then they became so wrinkled and uneven after ironing (how bizarre is that!?) and I'm mortified as I've never had that problem before so it had to be the starch on a soft board. The blue background looks fab and sets the other colours off perfectly :)

  10. Great blocks! I've been tempted to join that BOM as well, but also trying to reduce the number of BOMs and QALs this year. Visiting from the Plum and June link up - I've climbed the Great Wall, too!

  12. I'm popping over from Plum and June. How cool to climb the Great Wall of China! I love the blues in your blocks too. Your frozen wonderland pictures are gorgeous too. SO jealous... I'm in NE where this is nothing of geographic interest.
